Corinne Shepheard - Chair (10th year)

Ms. Shepheard has negotiated aboriginal land claims on behalf of the province of British Columbia for the past 19 years. Prior to that, she spent 8 years working on provincial policy responses to aboriginal rights and title litigation, and developing provincial mandates for treaty negotiation on a wide variety of land management and natural resource topics. She has a degree in Journalism, and has worked as a journalist, an advertising buyer and a production manager for two multi-national advertising firms, and as a management consultant.

Dr. Cory Herrera - Chair Emeritus (1st year, 16th years as Chair)

Dr. Herrera negotiated agreements with Aboriginal people on behalf of the province of British Columbia since 1993. She has been on the Board of Discovery School Society since 2001, serving as chair since 2002. She also serves as “people’s warden” for the parish of St. Matthias Church in Victoria. Her experience in public policy (dealing with issues spanning the full range of social and economic topics) dates from 1983 and includes work for the C.D. Howe Institute, as well as central government agencies in the provinces of Ontario and British Columbia. From 1998-2001, she chaired the Board of Directors of the Greater Victoria YM-YWCA. She earned her Ph.D. in history from Yale University and her A.B. from Stanford University.

Sherry Hyde - Treasurer (10th year)

Ms. Hyde recently retired from planning and managing financial, administrative and human resources for Elections BC. She was responsible for developing capital and operating budgets, including variance analysis. Sherry has served as the Vice-President of the Grand Prairie and District United Way and was the Chairperson of their Cost Allocation Committee.

Geoff Timlock -– Secretary (6th year)

Mr. Timlock grew up in Thorold ON. There were numerous paper mills and industrial facilities for employment, but he decided that he wanted more and left his hometown of Thorold Ontario in 1981 at the age of 19 to join the Royal Canadian Navy. He sailed on the East Coast during his two posting to Halifax NS and on the West Coast during his two postings to Victoria BC. Geoff sailed on all the classes of ships but he especially enjoyed his time while sailing on the Oberon Class Submarines. During his career, he visited many countries around the world experiencing many different cultures. Mr. Timlock retired from the Navy in 2006 after serving 25 years and accepted a Public Service position as an Electronics Technician at Fleet Maintenance Facility Cape Breton in the Combat Systems Section. Mr. Timlock is married to his wife Laurie-Ann for 18 years and they have two children, Mack who attends Royal Bay High School Grade 12 and Grace who attends Discovery School Grade 10.

Jeanine Woodman – Fundraising Chair (3rd year)

Mrs. Woodman is Clerical Staff for School District 62 at Spencer Middle School, where she has worked since 2013. She was also a reporter for Black Press in the B.C. Interior and Victoria for more than 12 years. As a PAC Member at Sangster Elementary School in Colwood she was Hot Lunch and Scholastic Book Fair Coordinator, and was recently a member of the Parish Council, as well as Religious Education Coordinator at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Saanich. Mrs. Woodman is currently the Altar Server Coordinator at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Mrs. Woodman lives in Colwood with her husband Brian, daughter Ella is in Grade 9 at Royal Bay High School and son Ben in Grade 11 at Discovery School.

Bob White – Maintenance (4th year)

Mr. White is retired from owning, managing and operating a home health care facility. He brings to the Board his experience and professional expertise in management of a business and maintenance of a facility.

Tracy Taylor – Member at Large (3rd year)

Tracy is a stay at home mom looking after two active and busy teenagers. She runs a successful Instagram account. Tracy loves pets and currently lives with five cats and a dog. Her dog, Watson, and Tracy are PATS volunteers at the Cool Aide Society once a week. Prior to having children Tracy worked in the health care field doing work ranging from one-on-one care to palliative care.

Jennifer Stubbs – Member at Large (3rd year)

Ms. Stubbs is a Senior Director of Client Services with the Ministry of Citizen’s Services and has been a public servant of British Columbia for twenty-three years. Her career has primarily focused in the areas of Real Property & IMIT, Client Service, Contract Management and Building Operations Oversight. Ms. Stubbs holds a Facility Management designation, a Master’s Certificate in Project Management, is a Certified Professional Coach, Advanced Lean practitioner and accredited Change Manager. Ms. Stubbs is also on the Board of Directors of Beaumont Holdings UK, holding the office of Secretary & Stakeholder Engagement.

Tiffany Holmes - Member at Large (2nd year)

For the last 18 years Mrs. Holmes has been working for the Saanich Police as a 911/Police Dispatcher and Supervisor. She has been on the Police Executive as the Civilian Representative for 13 years. Mrs. Holmes was on three rounds of negotiations with the Saanich Police Association. Prior to her son attending Discovery, Tiffany was a member at large on the Wishart PAC for 2 years. In her previous career she worked 16 years as a Flight Attendant with Air Canada Regional and was the Victoria Base Representative for Teamster Local 31 for the Flight Attendants.

Jennifer Davies - Member at Large (1st year)

Ms. Davies fell in love with non-profits when she became a single parent and when her child needed supports. Ms. Davies became inspired by local resources, such as the Single Parent Resource Centre, Stigma Free Zones, Mary Manning and Discovery School. Jennifer quickly developed a deep passion for charitable work and giving back. As a Hairstylist for 22 years, Jennifer has decided to go back to school to become a Community Support Worker and help encourage children and youth in our community. Ms. Davies truly believes, “Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed."
