How to Apply to Discovery School

If you have a child who has been diagnosed with a learning disability and is struggling to succeed in a regular classroom, the first step in our application process is to telephone us at 250-595-7765. Speaking with administration helps to determine if your child matches Discovery School criteria. If it seems your child will qualify, we will either mail you our application forms, or you can download them here.

After we receive your completed forms, we will invite you to meet with the Principal to receive further information about the school and our programs. Please check that we’ve received your application before making an appointment, the information contained in the form helps ensure you get program information that is relevant to your child's age, academic levels, and needs. We will share information and answer any questions you may have, and end your visit with a tour of the school.

If it is deemed that Discovery School is right for your child, your application is placed in our waiting pool. Placements are very limited, and delays in completing your application may mean that others move up the list while we wait for your forms. We accept a limited number of students per year, and existing students have first priority.

Generally by mid-April we will have determined how many students will be returning and how many new students Discovery will be able to accept. If your child is accepted, we will contact you to arrange an orientation day to confirm for you, and the school, that Discovery is indeed the best placement for your child. If that is successful, registration follows.
