Discovery School is different than other schools because it creates a learning environment that’s all about you – your strengths, your weak spots, and your learning pace. Here you’re more than another face in the crowd; you’re a unique and able student who needs specific kinds of help to succeed.

There are lots of things here that are the same as in other schools:

  • Bright, attractive classrooms
  • Friendly students, teachers and principal
  • Hot lunch days
  • Dress up days
  • Phys Ed four times a week
  • Award ceremonies, family events and concerts
  • Clubs (power walking, choir, reading and many others, depending what students are interested in)
  • A chance to help out in the community, including: the Salvation Army, SPCA, Terry Fox Foundation, Jeneece Place, Heart and Stroke Foundatin and Mustard Seed.
  • Community events like Kaleidoscope Theatre plays, the Terry Fox Run for the Cure, Jump Rope for Heart, and Hoops for Heart

EVERYTHING from our daily schedule to our homework policy has been set up to help you learn. Our teachers understand learning disabilities. They’re patient and kind, and can help you discover skills and abilities you didn’t even know you had.
